There have been several people in the United States who proclaim to have witnessed an apparition of the Virgin Mary, yet none of these events have been granted approval by the Vatican. That may change. The Catholic Church has sent investigators to Wisconsin to look into an apparition of the Virgin Mary witnessed by a nun, Sister Adele Brise. It is interesting to note that the apparition event took place 150 years ago. Yes, the Vatican takes it time in these matters. If this event is approved by the Vatican, it will be the first approved apparition site in the United States.
I found the comments at the end of this article interesting to read. People’s opinions and feelings vary, even to extremes.
These are always so great. This particular item is quite impressive with its detail.
This man fell asleep while frying bacon! Yikes, that’s a bit dangerous! To his amazement, after waking to a smoke-filled house and removing the extremely crisp bacon, he saw Jesus looking back at him! Read the article on the Telegraph website HERE.
Seeing this water stain in a baptismal fount helped stengthen the faith of a man from Haiti whose family is still in the ravaged area. I love the positive effects these types of signs have on people—whether others are affected or not.
This video is a trailer for a documentary about the apparitions of the Virgin Mary seen by three teenage girls from 1981 to 1983 in Rwanda. The girls, now women, are interviewed. This provides a very good example of what happens to seers including the disbelief of others, the accusations of the involvement of evil, and the emotion that surfaces when talking about the events.
Today on Twitter, one of my twitter friends tweeted that religious apparitions may be holograms:
“Any ‘Holy’ apparitions B4 1920s could B the work of a hologram machine.”
That is an interesting theory. However, it is important for me to point out that I am not trying to prove or disprove the phenomena. I study the affect these phenomena have on the people who experience them. The phenomena fascinate me, and I love to study them, but they are not the primary focus of my research. Whether we believe in the phenomena or not, the events are real to the people who experience them, and the experiencers are affected.
I find the hologram theory interesting and had one participant whose story sounded very much like a moving holographic image. However, the holographic image can not be touched or touch, yet some of my participants were touched physically and energetically by the apparitions they witnessed. Yet, a recent new piece out of Japan show holograms that respond to touch and can be felt! This technology is very new to us earthlings, as far as I know! hmmm…
Messages come in the most unexpected forms. Granted, not everyone is going to get a message from this breakfast item, but the person who witnessed it, and her family, are touched by the manifestation. It doesn’t matter if others “see it” or not. What matters is that someone’s life has been touched if not changed for the better, even if only for a moment.
Last weekend was the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and from the news alerts I was receiving, the Southwest was lit up with celebrations. It’s been almost 500 years since the apparitions, but it is celebrated as if it occurred yesterday. The phenomenon of the image of the apparition imprinted on Juan Diego’s cloak is still studied. The You Tube video below explains a bit about what has been found in the image on the cloak. The speaker’s voice is a little off-putting, but the information is very interesting.
